Modi inaugurates 23 projects, including 7 airport expansions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 23 significant projects worth Rs 6,611.18 crore, including seven airport expansions, during his visit to his parliamentary constituency on October 20. The inauguration featured completed projects at Rewa (Madhya Pradesh), Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh), and Sarsawa (Saharanpur, UP) airports, along with the foundation laying for expansions at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (Varanasi) and new terminals at Bagdogra (West Bengal), Darbhanga (Bihar), and Agra airports.
Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma confirmed that the cost for the LBSI Airport expansion and new terminal building is Rs 2,870 crore. Other airport projects include the New Civil Enclave at Bagdogra (Rs 1,550 crore), Darbhanga (Rs 912 crore), and Agra (Rs 579 crore).
Additionally, the PM will lay the foundation for a new academic block and girls’ hostel at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Arajiline, Varanasi, costing Rs 4.17 crore.
Projects set for inauguration include new terminal buildings for Rewa Airport (Rs 91 crore), Maa Mahamaya Airport in Ambikapur (Rs 80.32 crore), and the New Civil Enclave at Sarsawa Airport (Rs 54.56 crore). In Varanasi, the PM will inaugurate 14 projects worth Rs 380.13 crore, which include the redevelopment of Varanasi Sports Complex Sigra (Rs 216.29 crore), pro-poor tourism development at Sarnath (Rs 90.20 crore), and various hostel and infrastructure projects across the region.
