Hill highway project to finish by 2026, says PWD minister

PWD Minister P A Mohamed Riyas stated that the hill highway project would be completed by 2026. He made this announcement after inaugurating the Vattiyoorkavu-Kulasekaram Road, which had recently been upgraded to modern BM and BC standards.

He emphasized that in order to realize long-standing projects like the hill highway and coastal highway, it was essential for everyone to work together, setting aside political differences. The minister added that since the government took office, 50% of roads under the public works department had been upgraded to BM and BC standards.

The 2.150-km Vattiyoorkavu-Kulasekaram Road had been upgraded to international standards with a Rs 20 million allocation from the state government’s fund.
