Mamnoor Airport to Join Global Aviation Network

The Mamnoor airport in Warangal is gearing up for a transformational milestone that will integrate it into the global aviation network. Once operational, the airport will be capable of accommodating international aircraft such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing B737, widely used by airlines like Air India, Akasa Air, IndiGo, and SpiceJet.

The upgrades include a new runway, signal tower, security systems, and other critical infrastructure aligned with DGCA technical and safety standards under the Aircraft Act. Initially, the airport will cater to domestic routes with 100-passenger capacity aircraft, connecting cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Tirupati, Bengaluru, and Vijayawada. This phase will pave the way for further enhancements, allowing wide-body aircraft operations for both passenger and cargo services.

A detailed master plan has been prepared to support A320 operations under instrument flight rules (IFR). This includes advanced runway lighting, approach lighting, and facilities for housing communication and navigation equipment. These developments ensure compliance with global aviation standards.

The airport’s redevelopment received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) as part of a concession agreement between Hyderabad International Airport Limited and the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The agreement restricts the establishment or upgrade of any airport within a 150 km radius of Hyderabad International Airport until its 25th anniversary, securing Mamnoor’s gradual expansion into a domestic and international aviation hub.

The revamped Mamnoor airport promises to bolster Warangal's connectivity and economic growth, offering seamless access to both domestic and international markets. The airport’s strategic location, approximately 150 km from Warangal, positions it as a gateway to integrate the region with the global aviation landscape.
