JSW Energy Reaches 20 GW Locked-in Generation Capacity

JSW Energy announced that it has secured a total generation capacity of 20 GW through renewable energy projects in the commercial and industrial sector. This includes 3.1 GW of locked-in capacity, comprising 2,654 MW of captive capacity for the JSW Group and 445 MW of third-party commercial and industrial (C&I) capacity.

Currently, the company's operational C&I capacity stands at 488 MW. JSW Energy has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with DCM Shriram and Indus Towers Ltd for the supply of renewable energy, further reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.

With this, the company’s total locked-in capacity has now reached 20 GW. Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy, expressed his satisfaction in achieving this milestone. The company has set an ambitious goal of reaching 10 GW of operational capacity by FY 2025, with a current operational capacity of 7.7 GW across thermal, hydro, and renewable energy sources.

JSW Energy is also focused on energy storage, with 16.2 GWh of locked-in capacity via battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects. The company aims to reach 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by 2030, with a long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
