BDA To Develop Six New Layouts In PRR-2 Project

The Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) has revealed its plan to develop six new layouts as part of the Peripheral Ring Road-2 (PRR-2) project. As part of this initiative, the BDA is preparing to acquire land from multiple villages within the region. An official mentioned, “Preliminary notifications for land acquisition are still pending for the proposed layouts aligned with the PRR-2 project. The BDA has instructed teams, led by land acquisition officers, to identify suitable land in the villages, liaise with engineers, and gather essential information such as land ownership, plot sizes, maps, and records.” Around 3,000 hectares of government and private land will be acquired for this development, based on ongoing surveys. Villages such as BM Kaval, Gulikamale, Kaggalipura, OB Choodanahalli, Agara, Uttari, Devagere, Gudimavu, and Kambipura Gangasandra have been identified for acquisition. “Farmers whose land is taken will receive compensation under the 40:60 ratio model. In this structure, 40% of the compensation will be provided as developed plots in the new layouts created by the BDA. As per BDA regulations, landowners will be allocated plots within the same layout. Pricing for these plots will be determined after development is completed. The BDA aims to create 50,000 new plots to meet the growing demand for residential land. The success of this project is expected to improve urban infrastructure and boost Bengaluru’s real estate market,” an official explained.
