Faster, Safer Packing with Portland Company’s Cheetah-Bagplacer

“The Cheetah is a sleek and consistent animal, adapting its speed for the most accurate results — and that is exactly what this machine does for the packing line,” said Francesco Ferrandico, The Portland Company’s managing partner. “The CHEETAH-BAGPLACER is a perfect complement to any rotating packer, regardless of its brand, by matching its speed and providing optimized production and accuracy with reduced labor.” The CHEETAH-BAGPLACER is available in a medium- and a high-capacity configuration to adapt to a range of customer needs. It drastically increases production over manual bag placement by meeting the rotary packing machine’s capacity of up to 3,000 bags per hour for the medium-capacity configuration and up to 5,200 bags for the high-capacity option. In addition to increasing efficiency, the automated system reduces required labor and improves safety and employee satisfaction by distancing workers from dust and other hazards that arise when working close to a running machine. The CHEETAH-BAGPLACER’s empty bag magazine holds up to 2,000 empty bags and is compatible with a wide range of valve bags. The new bag placer is produced in Oelde, Germany with high-quality HAVER & BOECKER parts.
The Portland Company places a high degree of focus and importance on service and attention to the customers’ full operational needs. The signature PROcheck approach centers on keeping customers’ operations running at peak performance. PROcheck applies HAVER & BOECKER’s expertise in diagnostics, ATO equipment, consumables, spare parts and process engineering to optimize output, improve profitability and minimize downtime. The holistic approach of PROcheck also identifies components or functions that could be automated to improve productivity — an ideal fit for the CHEETAH-BAGPLACER.
