According to a company release, The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality firm, has signed a hotel in Mysore. This conversion project marks the debut of IHCL’s iconic Taj brand in the city.
Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, IHCL, highlighted Mysore’s evolving hospitality market and the significance of this expansion. She said, “Driven by growing presence of manufacturing and IT sectors, Mysore, an established leisure destination, is now fast becoming a diversified hospitality market. As a gateway to destinations like Coorg, Kabini, Bandipur and Ooty, it attracts a significant mix of domestic and international travellers. The signing of this hotel reflects our commitment to expanding the Taj brand in key markets across India. We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with DM South India Hospitality.”
Nestled in the foot of Chamundi Hills and overlooking the Mysore Palace, the 141-key Taj Mysore is a regal Indo-Sarcenic hotel that blends seamlessly into the old-world architecture of this historical city. Spread over 5.03 acres, the hotel is centrally located, adjacent to the Mall of Mysore and surrounded by views of a lush golf estate and the iconic Mysore Zoo.
