CDIL Teams up with Infineon to Explore India’s Semiconductor Market

Mohali-based CDIL Semiconductors has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Germany’s Infineon Technologies to explore collaboration opportunities in the Indian semiconductor market. Under the agreement, Infineon will supply bare die wafers to CDIL, which will then package them into discrete and module semiconductor products tailored for Indian customers.

This partnership aims to drive innovation, strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem, and support the country’s "Make in India" initiative. By working together, CDIL and Infineon plan to deliver advanced power semiconductor products and solutions that cater to India's growing demand in key sectors such as e-mobility, renewable energy, and energy-efficient appliances.

With a strong presence in the Indian semiconductor industry since 1964, CDIL operates four semiconductor chip manufacturing units. The company specialises in producing a wide range of semiconductor components, including diffused wafers, transistors, diodes, rectifiers, thyristors, TVSs, and regulators. The collaboration with Infineon is expected to enhance India's semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, positioning the country as a significant player in the global semiconductor supply chain.
