AXISCADES’ Mistral Acquires Altera Tech for Advanced Defense Computing

Mistral Solutions, a subsidiary of AXISCADES Technologies, has announced a strategic partnership with Altera (an Intel company) to advance high-performance computing solutions for defense applications. The collaboration will leverage Altera Agilex™ 9 Direct RF FPGA technology to enhance mission-critical aerospace and defense systems.
The announcement was made at the Bengaluru seminar, Advancing Mission-Critical Applications with Altera’s Direct RF FPGAs, attended by industry leaders from DRDO, ISRO, HAL, and BEL. Dr. B.K. Das, DG ECS, DRDO, emphasized the role of industry partnerships in defense innovation.
During the event, Mistral unveiled its 3U VPX SOSA™-aligned processing cards, featuring ultra-low latency, real-time data acquisition, and high-throughput computing. The company also outlined a roadmap for new products utilizing Altera Agilex™ 9 technology, targeting applications in electronic warfare, radar systems, 5G/6G infrastructure, and aerospace signal processing.
Mistral’s CEO, D. Murali Krishnan, highlighted the partnership’s potential to drive indigenous defense innovation. Altera’s John Sotir noted that Agilex 9 Direct RF FPGAs bring critical size, weight, and power advantages for next-gen aerospace and defense applications.
