JSW Energy Closes Rs 124.68B Deal for 4.7 GW Green Power Assets

JSW Energy has announced the successful completion of its Rs 124.68 billion acquisition of a 4.7 GW renewable energy platform from O2 Power. The transaction was carried out through JSW Neo Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy, marking one of the largest deals in the Indian renewables sector.

The acquisition includes 1.7 GW of operational capacity and an additional 2 GW under construction, with the remaining 1 GW in advanced stages of development. With this addition, JSW Energy’s total renewable portfolio rises to 11.1 GW, bringing the company’s overall installed capacity to 13.3 GW.

The deal aligns with JSW Energy’s strategic goal of achieving 20 GW of generation capacity by 2030, with around 85 per cent of that being powered by renewable sources. The company aims to play a key role in India’s clean energy transition and reduce its reliance on fossil fuel-based power generation.

JSW Energy also noted that the acquisition will significantly expand its presence in the solar and wind energy segments, supporting its long-term vision for sustainable and diversified energy assets.

The transaction reinforces the company’s growth trajectory in green energy, positioning it among the leading renewable players in the country.
