Chhattisgarh Launches India’s First AI-Based Data Center Park
2025-05-08

Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai has laid the foundation stone for India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Data Center Park in Naya Raipur, marking a significant step in the country’s digital infrastructure development. Spread over 13.5 acres, the project positions India toward becoming a global AI and digital powerhouse.
The facility will begin with an initial operational capacity of five megawatts and is planned to expand up to 150 megawatts in future phases. A 2.7-hectare area within the site will function as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Operated by a private technology firm, the park will cater exclusively to AI-driven services.
An estimated additional investment of Rs 20 billion is anticipated for the park’s full development. The project incorporates energy-efficient and environmentally conscious design practices.
Beyond data storage, the centre will offer services in AI, health technology, defence, financial technology and advanced data analytics. It will feature global-standard infrastructure such as GPU-based computing, live streaming, and high-end AI processing under one roof.
The initiative is expected to bolster Chhattisgarh’s position in the technology sector and generate new employment opportunities for local talent.
