Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has secured an order from Trillium Flow Technologies, UK, to supply 34 pumps across five models for the upcoming Sizewell C nuclear power plant units 1 and 2 in the United Kingdom. These are the same pump models and quantities earlier supplied to Hinkley Point C units 1 and 2, which are currently under construction.
The Sizewell C project, developed by Nuclear New Build, a subsidiary of EDF Energy, follows the same design as Hinkley Point C and is planned to generate 3.2 million kW of electricity. Trillium will manage the project scope, including motor procurement, pre-installation testing, and supervision of on-site installation, while MHI will handle the design and manufacturing of the pumps.
Once delivered to Trillium, the pumps will undergo pre-installation testing before being transported to the Sizewell C site for installation.
MHI first supplied nuclear-grade pumps for Hinkley Point C in 2019. With this new contract, it continues to support the global nuclear power sector, contributing to the safety and reliability of nuclear power generation through the supply of critical equipment for both domestic and international markets.
