BMRCL Partners With ACES India To Boost 4G/5G Connectivity

To enhance passenger experience and mobile connectivity for Namma Metro commuters, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) entered a strategic partnership with ACES India Private Limited—a wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Arabia-based ACES—on 14 July 2025.

The 13-year agreement allows ACES India to lease designated premises from BMRCL to deploy, operate, and maintain high-speed 4G and 5G telecom infrastructure across both elevated and underground sections of the metro network.

The scope covers installation of In-Building Solutions (IBS), Base Transceiver Stations (BTS), cellular towers, and telecom poles at metro stations along the four extensions of Phase I and Reach-5 and Reach-6 corridors of Phase II. The neutral-host model enables multiple telecom providers to deliver uninterrupted voice and data services within metro stations, concourses, and tunnels.

Commenting on the partnership, Maheshwar Rao, Managing Director of BMRCL, said, “This partnership is another step towards future-ready mobility solutions with sustainability and operational efficiency. The new infrastructure will support multiple network operators, optimise space, minimise duplication, reduce deployment costs, and accelerate rollout of advanced 4G and 5G services. Commuters can expect seamless connectivity throughout their journeys.”

This initiative is part of BMRCL’s wider non-fare revenue strategy, optimising underutilised station infrastructure by leasing premises for telecom deployment. This approach aims to improve commuter services while ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
