The scheme envisions upgrading 1,000 government ITIs under a hub-and-spoke model, with 200 hub ITIs and 800 spokes. It will be co-funded by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
Special Secretary and Director General (Training) Trishaljit Sethi highlighted the need for collaboration with industry partners, while Economic Advisor Archana Mayaram outlined the scheme’s objectives.
The workshop also featured presentations from UT representatives on existing skilling ecosystems and challenges, with MSDE officials assuring continued technical support. Sessions on entrepreneurship integration and the SIDH portal were held to improve programme efficiency and transparency.
