Poddar Plumbing to Invest Rs 7.58 Bn in Karnataka, Generate 12,000 Jobs
2025-07-31

Poddar Plumbing System, a leading manufacturer of CPVC and PVC pipes, has announced plans to increase its investment in Karnataka to Rs 7.58 billion from the earlier Rs 4.92 billion. The expansion is expected to create around 12,000 jobs—3,000 direct and 9,000 indirect—in the state.
As part of this investment, the company is setting up a large-scale manufacturing facility in the Vemgal Industrial Area (Phase 2), Kolar, spread across 33 acres. The plant is expected to become operational by August 2026. In addition, a second unit has been proposed in Vijayapura.
The announcement followed a meeting between Deepak Poddar, Managing Director, and Varun Poddar, Director of Poddar Plumbing, and MB Patil, Minister for Large and Medium Industries, at Khanija Bhavan.
Commenting on the development, Deepak Poddar, Founder of Poddar Plumbing System, said, “At Poddar Plumbing, we are committed to driving industrial growth while creating meaningful employment opportunities in Karnataka. Our latest investment reaffirms our long-term vision of making India self-reliant in advanced piping solutions.”
Founded by the promoters of Ashirvad Pipes, Poddar Plumbing aims to achieve an annual turnover of Rs 15 billion over the next decade. The project is also expected to contribute approximately Rs 30 billion in tax revenues to the government during this period.
Construction and machinery installation are already underway at the Vemgal site. The upcoming facility will produce a wide range of high-quality piping solutions including CPVC and UPVC pipes for plumbing and water distribution, as well as specialised pipes for agriculture, chemical, and gas transportation.
