Deere Updates Backhoes with New Cab

John Deere has introduced five upgraded backhoe models – the 310 G-Tier and 310, 320, 410, and 710 P-Tier – featuring entirely reimagined cabs and an innovative rear camera system, a first in the industry.

“What’s new is the entire cab structure, completely redesigned from top to bottom,” said Emily Pagura, Product Marketing Manager, during the company’s 2025 Construction Field Days preview in Sacaton, Arizona. “What’s not changing is the heartbeat of this machine – the engine, transmission, hydraulic system and all of the components that make this a durable, reliable machine with strong performance.”

A key exterior change is the reduction of two side posts to one, significantly improving visibility during trenching and truck loading operations. The rear window has been redesigned in an overhead excavator-style layout that folds up to prevent damage and enhance visibility in confined spaces.

The highlight is Deere’s new factory-installed rear camera system. Two rear-mounted cameras provide real-time visuals on an 8-inch in-cab touchscreen. Operators can select split views (left or right) or combine both into a wide-angle perspective that digitally removes rear structure obstructions.

LED work lights and turn signals now come standard, enhancing safety during night-time or low-light operations. Inside the cab, Deere has widened the area around the seat by 5 inches to improve movement when switching between loading and digging functions.

Optional upgrades include a heated and vented seat and a new HVAC system delivering 10 per cent more airflow. Deere says these changes put operator comfort and productivity at the forefront of the redesign, while retaining proven performance systems.
