Bajaj Auto Resumes Chetak Supplies Across Dealerships

Bajaj Auto, the world’s most valuable two- and three-wheeler company, has announced the resumption of supplies for its electric scooter, Chetak, across all dealerships after successfully overcoming global constraints on rare earth magnet availability.

Deliveries had been temporarily moderated in recent weeks due to international component shortages, compounded by the sustained demand for Chetak. With production now restored ahead of schedule, Bajaj Auto has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring customers receive the ‘Lifeproof’ scooter known for reliability, performance, and style. Shipments recommenced on 20 August, marking a quicker-than-expected return to full capacity. The company has also secured sufficient supplies of rare earth magnets and other critical materials to ensure smooth availability during the upcoming festive season.

Eric Vas, President of the Urbanite Business Unit at Bajaj Auto, stated: “We appreciate our customers’ patience. Demand for Chetak remains robust, supplies have normalised and deliveries against bookings have commenced. We are scaling up production to meet rising demand while maintaining our standards of quality and customer satisfaction.”

Chetak continues to demonstrate strong market momentum. The brand has doubled its market share since April last year and concluded FY25 as the leading electric scooter in India. This growth underscores the confidence and trust customers place in Bajaj Auto’s electric mobility solutions.
