Radisson Hotel Group Eyes Expansion in East India

Radisson Hotel Group, which operates over 200 hotels in India, is planning to expand further into eastern India, with Bihar identified as a new growth market.

Speaking at a tourism and hospitality conference organised by FHRAI in Bengaluru, K B Kachru, Chairman of South Asia operations, said the group was focused on balancing its portfolio across metros and tier 2–3 cities. Nearly 50% of its current properties are already in smaller cities.

He also called for conserving historic buildings by converting them into heritage hotels rather than replacing them with modern structures. The approach, he said, would enrich India’s tourism offering and support sustainable growth.

Kachru added that government initiatives to boost inbound and domestic tourism had given the industry renewed confidence, and Radisson was keen to contribute by expanding its presence across diverse markets.
