CCI Clears Jindal Power’s Acquisition Of Jaiprakash Associates

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL) by Jindal Power Limited under the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) in line with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
Jindal Power, incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956, is primarily engaged in the power sector. Entities within the wider Jindal Group have a global presence across steel, energy, and mining.
Jaiprakash Associates, currently undergoing CIRP, has business interests in real estate, cement, hospitality, and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC).
The detailed order from the Commission will be issued in due course.
