Maha Metro’s Nagpur Metro Viaduct Enters Guinness World Records
2025-10-06
The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha Metro) has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for constructing the world’s longest metro double-decker viaduct on Kamptee Road, spanning 5.64 km.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis received the Guinness World Records certificate during a ceremony held at Ramgiri, Nagpur, in the presence of senior officials from Maha Metro and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The certificate was formally presented to Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director, Maha Metro, by Swapnil Dangrikar of Guinness World Records.
Built on a single column using the Rib and Span method, the viaduct stands out for its unique structural design. The project features a four-layered transport system at Gaddigodam, comprising a road underbridge, a railway bridge, a road overbridge, and the metro line on top.
Earlier, Maha Metro had achieved a similar milestone for its 3.14 km double-decker viaduct on Wardha Road, which entered the Guinness Book in 2022.
