CM Inaugurates Six-Lane Nand Nagri–Gagan Flyover
2025-10-06

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday inaugurated a new six-lane flyover connecting Nand Nagri and Gagan Cinema in the Trans-Yamuna area, marking a major step towards easing long-standing traffic congestion in the region.
The Rs 3 billion project is expected to benefit hundreds of thousands of commuters daily, reducing travel time and improving road safety. Gupta said the initiative would “enhance the quality of life for lakhs of families” living across East and North-East Delhi.
Sharing her remarks on social media platform X, the Chief Minister described the flyover as “a living example of momentum, resolve, and good governance”, noting that the long-delayed project was completed within just seven months under the BJP-led government.
“Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is rapidly moving towards the vision of a Viksit Delhi,” Gupta said, calling the new infrastructure “a symbol of relief and a brighter future for the city.”
The inauguration ceremony was attended by MP Manoj Tiwari, Cabinet Minister Parvesh Verma, Deputy Speaker of the Delhi Assembly and local MLA Mohan Singh Bisht, and several other dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, Minister Parvesh Verma said the flyover would significantly improve connectivity and ease daily commutes for residents who face traffic delays on the existing routes. He also extended gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chief Minister Gupta, and Environment Minister Manjinder Sirsa, noting that their collaboration was instrumental in ensuring the project’s timely completion.
The flyover inauguration coincided with Seva Pakhwada (Service Fortnight), a two-week public outreach and service campaign launched on 17 September to mark Prime Minister Modi’s birthday. The initiative reflects the government’s focus on people-centric development and citizen welfare through infrastructure upgrades.
Officials said the Nand Nagri–Gagan Cinema flyover would reduce congestion on nearby arterial roads, cut emissions, and improve traffic flow between residential and commercial zones in the Trans-Yamuna area.
