JD Cables Expands with New Facility and Machinery

JD Cables Limited has announced the acquisition of new land and building assets in Hooghly, West Bengal, marking a major step in its capacity expansion plans. The company entered into an Agreement for Sale (without possession) with Star Battery Limited for the purchase of approximately 164.29 cottah (around 1,18,288 sq ft) of land at Dankunibill, Chanditala–II Block, for a total consideration of Rs 104.5 million.
The acquired site includes existing sheds and industrial structures, enabling immediate operational use. The move aligns with JD Cables’ strategy to expand its manufacturing infrastructure and meet the growing demand for its range of cables and conductors.
In parallel, the company has invested Rs 57 million in advanced machinery for its Conductor Division, which will be installed at the new facility. The investment will enhance efficiency, product quality, and output capacity.
Commenting on the expansion, Piyush Garodia, Managing Director, JD Cables Limited, said, “This acquisition marks a key milestone in our growth journey. The new facility and advanced machinery will help us scale operations and serve customers better.”
JD Cables manufactures a wide range of power, control, and aerial bunched cables, as well as aluminium and alloy conductors used in electricity transmission and distribution. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified and supplies to multiple State Electricity Boards across India.
