MahaRERA Fast-Tracks 809 Project Approvals Ahead of Diwali

This year, MahaRERA has taken a proactive approach to facilitate timely project approvals ahead of the celebrations. A total of 809 project applications were approved recently, covering new registrations, timeline extensions, and corrections to existing projects. Officials worked round-the-clock to clear the pending proposals.
On the eve of Dussehra alone, 200 projects received certificates of approval, marking the first instance of such a large number of registrations on the same day. Of the 809 approvals, 405 were new registrations, 209 were extensions, and 195 were corrections.

This surge highlights developers’ focus on launching during festive months — a period associated with higher buyer engagement and optimism.
By accelerating clearances for compliant projects, MahaRERA enables developers to align launches with key market windows without compromising on due diligence.
Ensuring Compliance and Buyer Confidence
MahaRERA has reaffirmed that only projects fulfilling all regulatory norms are granted approval. This ensures transparency and safeguards buyers’ interests while allowing developers to proceed without procedural delays. The authority has also refined its systems to accommodate extensions and corrections efficiently, supporting developers facing evolving project schedules.
The move aligns with industry trends where developers strategically time new launches around Dussehra and Diwali to maximise demand. By streamlining approval processes, MahaRERA ensures both compliance and convenience for stakeholders during the festive cycle.
Looking Ahead
MahaRERA’s initiative underscores its commitment to a transparent, efficient, and developer-friendly approval process. The surge in approvals not only promotes new launches but also enhances flexibility for project adjustments, fostering a resilient real estate ecosystem.
As Diwali 2025 nears, both developers and homebuyers stand to benefit — with developers able to time launches effectively and buyers assured of projects meeting strict regulatory standards. MahaRERA’s emphasis on compliance, efficiency, and speed reinforces trust and momentum in Maharashtra’s real estate sector.
