Hindustan Zinc Partners with BecomingX for the World’s Deepest Marathon

Hindustan Zinc the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and one of the top five global silver producers, has announced its partnership with BecomingX for the World’s Deepest Marathon, an unprecedented endurance event set 1,120 metres below the Earth’s surface at Boliden’s Garpenberg zinc mine in Sweden.

Taking place on October 25, the marathon will feature 60 runners from 18 countries — including CEOs, mining leaders, charity workers, and first-time marathoners — all uniting to raise $1 million for charity. Hindustan Zinc’s CEO, Arun Misra, and COO, Kishore S will represent the company in this record-breaking challenge.

Building on its strong focus on sports, fitness, and community well-being, Hindustan Zinc has previously hosted the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon in Udaipur, attracting over 7,000 participants under the #RunForZeroHunger initiative by the Anil Agarwal Foundation’s Nandghar project. The company also runs programs such as Zinc Football Academy, Zinc Football Girls Academy, and the AIFF Zinc Blue Cubs League, nurturing young sporting talent and promoting inclusion at the grassroots level.
