HD Hyundai Elevates Chung Kisun to Chairman

HD Hyundai has promoted Executive Vice Chairman Chung Kisun to Chairman as part of its latest leadership reshuffle. A Yonsei University graduate with an MBA from Stanford, Chung began his career in 2009 at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and has since held multiple key roles across the group.

He is currently CEO of HD Hyundai and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, and now also serves as Co-CEO of HD Hyundai XiteSolution to revitalise the construction equipment segment.

Chung spearheaded the creation of HD Hyundai Marine Solution in 2016 and led the 2021 acquisition of Doosan Infracore, strengthening the group’s diversified business base. His focus on AI, digital innovation, and eco-friendly technologies underpins HD Hyundai’s strategic growth.

An HD Hyundai spokesperson said the appointment reflects the group’s determination to advance global competitiveness and support the Korea–US Shipbuilding Cooperation Project.
