PTC Industries Wins GTRE Order for Single Crystal Turbine Blades
PTC Industries Limited, a leading manufacturer of high-performance materials and precision-engineered components for aerospace and defence, has received a Purchase Order from the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), for Post-Cast Operations to produce Single Crystal ‘Ready-to-Fit’ Turbine Blades. The announcement was made in the presence of Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the inauguration of PTC’s Titanium & Superalloys Materials Plant in Lucknow.
This marks the first time an Indian company has been entrusted with the complete Post-Cast Operations of Single Crystal Turbine Blades, including machining, grinding, brazing, vacuum heat treatment, thermal barrier coating, and powder vapour deposition — a capability held by only a few organisations globally.
The order strengthens PTC’s strategic partnership with GTRE and aligns with the Government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative for self-reliance in defence manufacturing. According to PTC Chairman and Managing Director Sachin Agarwal, the order signifies a milestone in India’s journey towards indigenous aero-engine capability, positioning PTC as a key contributor to the nation’s aerospace ecosystem.
PTC will leverage its advanced manufacturing facilities in India and the expertise of its UK-based subsidiary, Trac Precision Solutions, to deliver the components. The company already supplies mission-critical parts to HAL, DRDO, and BrahMos, and exports Titanium and Superalloy castings to global OEMs such as Safran, Dassault Aviation, BAE Systems, and Israel Aerospace Industries.
This achievement highlights India’s growing capacity in advanced materials and propulsion systems, reinforcing its ambition to design, develop, and manufacture indigenous aero-engines.
