Concord Control Systems, one of India’s leading manufacturers of embedded electronic and critical system solutions, announced that its associate company, Progota India, has received Technical Prototype Clearance from the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) for Kavach 4.0, the latest version of Indian Railways’ indigenous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system.

With this clearance, Progota has been formally approved to execute its ongoing trial order from South Central Railway, marking a key milestone in India’s railway modernization journey. The approval also establishes Progota as a Developmental Vendor eligible to participate in all upcoming Kavach 4.0 tenders across Indian Railways.

Kavach 4.0 represents a major leap in the country’s rail safety ecosystem. The upgraded system aims to prevent collisions, enhance operational reliability, and enable real-time communication between locomotives and trackside equipment. The RDSO’s certification underscores Progota’s engineering excellence, reliability, and compliance with the rigorous standards prescribed by the Ministry of Railways.

Commenting on this achievement, Nitin Jain, Joint Managing Director, Concord Control Systems, said, “Receiving the RDSO prototype clearance for Kavach 4.0 is a proud milestone for our team. This approval reinforces our commitment to the Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat by delivering cutting-edge, indigenous technology solutions that enhance safety and efficiency across India’s railway network.”
