Sharda Motor Partners with Donghee for Next-Gen Suspension Systems

Sharda Motor Industries (SMIL), one of India’s leading Tier-1 automotive suppliers, has signed a Technology Licence Agreement (TLA) with Donghee Industries Co. Ltd., Republic of Korea, to introduce advanced suspension systems for Indian and global automotive platforms.

Under the agreement, Donghee will transfer design blueprints, process know-how, and validation protocols to SMIL, enabling local production of control arms, torsion beams, and sub-frames. The partnership significantly expands SMIL’s suspension portfolio, integrating lightweight engineering, structural integrity, and next-generation manufacturing technologies.

The collaboration comes at a time when India’s automotive landscape is rapidly shifting toward SUVs, electric, and premium passenger vehicles, creating rising demand for modern suspension solutions. This alliance aims to bridge capability gaps in the domestic market while building globally competitive systems tailored to Indian driving conditions.

Donghee Industries, a global leader in suspension and chassis systems, serves major automotive OEMs such as Hyundai, Kia, Volkswagen, and Stellantis. Through this partnership, SMIL leverages its extensive manufacturing presence across India, robust OEM relationships, and localisation expertise to co-develop world-class suspension products.
