Godrej Enterprises Group Earns TÜV India Water Positive Certification

Godrej Enterprises Group has been certified Water Positive by TÜV India after a rigorous third-party audit across all 25 of its manufacturing plants in India. With a Water Positive Index of 1.87, the company replenishes 1.87 litres of water for every litre consumed through on-site initiatives—reinforcing its leadership in sustainable and regenerative manufacturing.

TÜV India’s globally aligned Water Positive Scoring Framework validated that Godrej’s water stewardship efforts go beyond compliance, delivering measurable and science-backed impact. The verification assessed water accounting, recharge and recycling systems, consumption patterns, and the robustness of monitoring and quality assurance processes across all locations.

Commenting on the achievement, Tejashree Joshi, Head – Environmental Sustainability, Godrej Enterprises Group, said, “Achieving Water Positive certification across all our plants is a proud validation of our commitment to responsible and regenerative growth. We aim not only to minimise our environmental footprint but to restore more water than we consume. TÜV India’s independent verification adds credibility to our data, ensuring that every litre replenished reflects measurable and transparent outcomes. This milestone underscores our resolve to build water-secure communities and drive a sustainable future for India.”

Water stewardship remains central to Godrej’s sustainability strategy and supports India’s broader climate resilience goals. The company has implemented widespread rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and wastewater recycling systems, contributing to an overall 40% reduction in water usage.

At its Vikhroli campus alone, rainwater harvesting infrastructure can replenish over 4,25,000 cubic metres annually. In FY25, Godrej Enterprises Group collectively recharged and reused more than 2.02 billion litres of water—demonstrating the long-term impact of 15 years of dedicated stewardship.

As water scarcity intensifies globally, Godrej’s Water Positive certification highlights its proactive approach to sustainable industrial growth. TÜV India’s independent verification reinforces the company’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and nation-building through sustainable engineering.
