HPWWI, Biesse Partner to Boost Woodworking Skill Development

The Hettich Poddar Wood Working Institute (HPWWI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Biesse, strengthening efforts to advance skill development in India’s woodworking sector.
The partnership will enhance training in advanced woodworking machinery, helping learners integrate modern technology into traditional craftsmanship. It marks the second collaboration between HPWWI and Biesse — after Faridabad — now expanding to Bhandup, Mumbai, symbolising Biesse’s entry into India’s financial capital.
Mr Amit Prasad, CHRO, Hettich India & Director, HPWWI, said, “At HPWWI, our focus has always been on creating an environment where skill meets technology and learning leads to livelihood. This collaboration brings Biesse’s advanced woodworking machines into our training ecosystem, allowing our students to learn, design, and create using world-class tools.”
Mr Sayeed Ahmed, CEO, Biesse India, added, “The woodworking industry in India is evolving rapidly, from traditional practices to technology-driven operations. Through this MoU, we’re empowering individuals to grow with it.”
Themed ‘Technology Day with Biesse’, the event was graced by Mr Walter Ferrara, Consul General of Italy in Mumbai, who highlighted how Italian innovation and Indian craftsmanship can unite to create opportunities and drive sustainable growth.
With live workshops and demonstrations, the event showcased how Biesse’s advanced machinery can be seamlessly integrated into HPWWI’s training modules, providing hands-on, industry-relevant exposure to students.
