India to host International Green Hydrogen Conference 2025
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, will host the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2025) on 11 and 12 November at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event will see participation from senior Union Ministers, including Shri Pralhad Joshi, Minister of New and Renewable Energy and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Food and Public Distribution, and Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences.
ICGH 2025 will bring together government officials, technical experts, industry representatives, researchers, students, and media professionals to discuss the development and application of green hydrogen across multiple sectors. Advancing the National Green Hydrogen Mission
The conference forms part of India’s ongoing efforts to advance the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM). It will feature thematic dialogues and round-table sessions focused on scaling up green hydrogen production, developing enabling infrastructure, fostering demand creation, and strengthening global collaboration.
Key discussion areas will include financing, certification, port readiness, skill development, technology localisation, and regional relevance across different geographies.
Speaking about the event, Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE and Chairman, SECI, said, “Green hydrogen will play a vital role in ensuring clean, affordable, and domestically produced energy for India. The sector is rapidly evolving, and ICGH 2025 will help clarify technology choices, cost trends, and infrastructure needs while aligning government, industry, and research priorities for effective implementation under the Mission.”
Global and Cross-Ministerial Participation
The conference will include senior representatives from the Ministries of New and Renewable Energy, Power, Ports, Steel, Fertilisers, and Science and Technology. International participants will include the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Hydrogen Europe, the H2 Global Foundation, the Korea Hydrogen Alliance, and the Port of Rotterdam Authority.
