India Issues 2.3 GW Of Renewable Tenders In October 2025
India issued more than 2,330 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy tenders in October 2025 under the project development category, signalling continued momentum in the country’s clean energy expansion.
According to data from JMK Research & Analytics, the tenders included one from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), which invited bids for a 1,200 MW / 4,800 megawatt-hour (MWh) peak power supply project. The tender seeks firm and dispatchable renewable energy from ISTS-connected renewable projects with co-located energy storage systems.
In addition to SECI’s tender, over 600 MW of EPC-based renewable energy tenders were also issued during the month.
On the auction front, around 3,600 MW of renewable capacity and 6,000 MWh of energy storage capacity were awarded to various developers across India, strengthening the nation’s hybrid and storage-linked energy ecosystem.
Between January and September 2025, India added approximately 29,466 MW of solar and 4,959 MW of wind capacity, bringing the total installed renewable energy capacity to about 247.3 gigawatts.
The steady pace of tendering and commissioning reflects India’s ongoing efforts to meet its renewable energy targets and strengthen grid reliability through integrated storage solutions.
