TCS To Drive Lion’s Digital Transformation

Lion, the Sydney-headquartered beverage company with operations across Australia and New Zealand, has selected Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to manage and transform its information technology landscape. The partnership aims to boost Lion’s operational resilience and productivity through a scalable operating model, service-delivery automation, and the infusion of Artificial Intelligence for smarter business outcomes.

Under this collaboration, TCS will lead Lion’s shift from legacy systems to a modern cloud-based infrastructure, strengthen its cybersecurity framework, and oversee application development. With its deep domain expertise and suite of AI-driven solutions, TCS will support Lion’s broader transformation agenda while accelerating its growth. TCS will also deploy its CognixTM platform to enhance service resiliency, improve business agility, and elevate customer experience.

Ram Kalyanasundaram, Lion’s Technology & Digital Transformation Director, said the partnership signalled a new phase in the company’s technological evolution. He noted that TCS brings strong global CPG capabilities, trusted execution, and a partnership mindset aligned with Lion’s goals to build a modern, resilient and scalable digital foundation. He added that simplifying systems, accelerating innovation and providing teams with the right tools will help deliver better experiences for customers and consumers.

Krishnan Ramanujam, President of the Consumer Business Group at TCS, said he was pleased to partner with Lion during a period of rapid transformation in the beverages industry. He highlighted that leveraging AI, cloud technologies and TCS’ CPG platforms would accelerate innovation and deliver stronger outcomes for Lion’s customers.

The partnership will also promote continuous innovation across Lion’s enterprise through advanced data and analytics powered by AI, alongside revenue upliftment supported by strategic revenue-growth management. It will introduce AI-enabled personalised solutions and persona-based enterprise health metrics to deliver targeted optimisation strategies and deeper functional insights, strengthening operational performance.

Vikram Singh, TCS’ Country Head for Australia and New Zealand, said the collaboration would help streamline systems and build long-term value through automation, AI adoption and enhanced digital capabilities. He emphasised TCS’ commitment to supporting Lion’s ongoing transformation.

TCS has been expanding its presence in Australia for more than 35 years. It now partners with most of the top ten listed companies in the region, operates across five locations, and has been recognised as one of LinkedIn’s Top 25 Companies to Work For and as a leading employer by the Top Employers Institute
