ACME Solar Adds 16 MW to Gujarat Wind Project

ACME Solar has recently commissioned an additional 16 MW at its 100 MW wind power project in Surendranagar, Gujarat, taking the plant’s operational capacity to 44 MW. The project, financed by PFC and equipped with SANY turbines, supplies electricity to GUVNL under a 25-year power purchase agreement.

The latest capacity addition follows the commissioning of 28 MW in October. Officials from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency and Paschim Gujarat Vij Company have confirmed the commissioning, with the formal certificate awaited.

With the latest phase online, ACME Solar’s total operational portfolio has increased to 2,934 MW. The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission recently extended the project’s Scheduled Commercial Operation Date to 5 March 2026 after recognising Force Majeure events. Despite this revision, ACME Solar has progressed ahead of schedule by delivering 44 MW across the first two phases.
