Bhopal Metro Undergoes Three-Day CMRS Safety Inspection

The inspection, led by the CMRS team, covered the elevated “Orange Line” corridor between the Subhash Nagar depot and the AIIMS Bhopal station, including all eight stations and the associated systems infrastructure. The review assessed station readiness, signalling systems, third-rail electrification, fire safety mechanisms, track alignment and depot facilities.
The clearance by the CMRS is essential before passenger services can commence. With this review now complete, the project managed by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) is poised for its next milestone: final certification and launch readiness.
Once operational, the Bhopal Metro network will enhance urban mobility, reduce traffic congestion, and contribute to sustainable transport infrastructure in the region. The priority corridor’s completion signals progress towards a modern, efficient public-transit system.
