EIMA Agrimach Ends with Push for Green-fuel Tech in Farm Machinery
2025-12-01
The ninth edition of EIMA Agrimach India 2025, the international exhibition and conference on agri-machinery and agri-tech solutions, concluded in New Delhi with a strong call to accelerate the transition toward green-fuel-based farm technologies. Jointly organised by FICCI and Italy’s FederUnacoma in association with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, the three-day event ran from 27–29 November at the IARI grounds, Pusa.
The exhibition drew nearly 20,000 farmers—primarily from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Odisha—along with more than 4,000 domestic dealers and distributors. Over 180 Indian and international companies showcased their latest machinery, while 100 foreign buyers from countries including Algeria, Malaysia, Vietnam, Morocco, South Korea and Thailand participated. Italy was the partner country, with delegations from the Netherlands, Japan, the United States and Poland also taking part.
During the inaugural session, Agriculture Secretary Dr Devesh Chaturvedi urged industry to prioritise green-fuel mechanisation over the next decade. He highlighted the potential of electric tractors and machines powered by compressed biogas (CBG) to reduce farmers’ operating costs and environmental impact. He also stressed the need for gender-neutral and gender-friendly equipment to ease the workload of women farmers, noting the United Nations’ decision to observe 2026 as the International Year of Women Farmers.
Italian Ambassador Antonio Bartoli expressed hope for the appointment of an agriculture attaché to advance bilateral collaboration. Joint Secretary Anbalagan P. commended the strong turnout and industry engagement. Industry leaders such as TR Kesavan called for expanding “agriculture as a service” to improve affordability of advanced equipment, while FederUnacoma’s Director General Simona Rapastella cited strong growth prospects for India’s farm-machinery market.
A FICCI–PwC report on future-ready mechanisation was released during the event. The next edition of EIMA Agrimach will be held in Italy in 2026.
