Air Marshal Tejbir Singh Appointed DG (Inspection & Safety)

Air Marshal Tejbir Singh has taken over as Director General (Inspection and Safety) at Air Headquarters. His career of 37 years includes wide-ranging command and staff roles, among them Air Attaché to Bangladesh, Senior Directing Staff (Air) at the National Defence College and Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (T&H). He is an alumnus of the Royal College of Defence Studies, UK.
He has extensive operational experience with more than 7,000 hours of flying. He played a key role in the induction of the C-130J ‘Super Hercules’ aircraft and in establishing the Indian Air Force’s first ‘Special Ops’ Squadron for joint operations. He has commanded two major flying bases, a premier training base and a frontline operational airbase supporting the Northern sector.
In his previous assignment as Senior Air Staff Officer, HQ Training Command, he led major training reforms to align instructional frameworks with operational objectives. His service has been recognised with the Vayu Sena Medal in 2010 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2018.
He succeeds Air Marshal Makarand Bhaskar Ranade, who superannuated on 30 November 2025 after 39 years of service.
