Alligator Automations Opens New Rs 0.4 Bn Plant in Pune

Alligator Automations, a leading player in end-of-line packaging and robotic automation, has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pune with an investment of Rs 0.4 billion. The expansion represents a major milestone in the Company’s vision to build a globally competitive Indian engineering organisation, with overall production capacity expected to rise threefold.
Designed to strengthen India’s contribution to the global automation ecosystem, the unit has an annual production capability of Rs 5–6 billion and enables complete turnkey projects to be engineered, assembled, tested and dispatched from India. The facility is expected to reduce dependence on imported robotic systems and accelerate India’s integration into international automation supply chains.
Srinivas Choudhary, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Alligator Automations, said the new plant marks a significant step in building an engineering company of global scale and standards, aligned with the goal of strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem and delivering complex automation solutions that compete internationally.
The facility features advanced fabrication lines, a modern powder-coating setup, automated storage systems with capacity for over 100 tonnes of inventory and a 100,000 sq ft assembly area. With six loading bays, five 7.5-tonne cranes and a fully digital workflow, the Company can manage up to 15–20 large projects simultaneously, including turnkey lines up to 80 metres.
By integrating fabrication, coating, quality checks, stores and assembly under one roof, Alligator Automations expects to shorten delivery timelines by nearly 20 per cent and improve production precision. The unit is also projected to increase exports by 30 per cent and generate over 400 jobs in India and around 100 internationally over the next three years.
With this expansion, the Company reinforces its position as India’s largest end-of-line packaging and robotic automation provider, advancing its mission of delivering world-class engineering solutions from India to the world.
The shift towards peripheral growth is expected to continue, driven by the expansion of expressways, metro networks, arterial roads and airports that are catalysing new residential corridors and commercial hubs across India’s leading cities.
