MIC Electronics Bags Rs 10.49 Mn Deal for Rail Info System Upgrade

MIC Electronics has secured a Rs 10.49 million contract from South Central Railway’s Vijayawada Division to modernise passenger information systems at Annavaram (ANV) and Yelamanchili (YLM), two high-traffic stations on the Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam corridor. The upgrade aims to strengthen real-time communication for daily commuters through integrated digital solutions.
The project will introduce synchronised LED train display boards, GPS-enabled digital clocks, automated audio announcements and GPS-based system integration. The stations, located along one of the busiest rail stretches in the region, consistently record significant passenger movement, making reliable information services critical.
Officials said the implementation will be built on a fully IP-based architecture supported by optical fibre connectivity. The system will enable instantaneous updates and centralised monitoring, ensuring seamless coordination across platforms. The solution, manufactured domestically, includes platform and station controllers, public announcement system integration, enhanced network security provisions and energy-efficient display units.
“MIC Electronics is proud to partner with South Central Railway to modernise passenger information systems at ANV and YLM stations,” said Rakshit Mathur, CEO, MIC Electronics. He noted that the company remains committed to providing India-made digital technologies that strengthen transportation infrastructure.
Under the terms of the contract, the company must complete the project within 12 months. This will be followed by a three-year warranty and operational support period to ensure system reliability and on-ground assistance. The enhanced setup is expected to reduce manual interventions, improve operational efficiency for station staff and offer passengers more accurate and timely updates.
MIC Electronics has already executed passenger display and information system projects at more than 200 railway stations nationwide, contributing to the wider digital transformation of India’s railway network.
