Escorts Kubota Unveils BS V Next-gen Construction Range at Excon 2025

Escorts Kubota (EKL), one of India’s major engineering groups in the agricultural and construction equipment sectors, unveiled its latest BS V–compliant construction machinery line-up at Excon 2025. The refreshed portfolio underscores the company’s push toward application-driven, high-productivity solutions that reduce ownership costs and meet the needs of India’s expanding infrastructure landscape. With demand rising across urban development, industrial logistics and mining, the new range aims to deliver higher performance, durability and operator comfort.

In the earthmoving segment, EKL announced the commercial launch of the Kubota U22-6 Mini Excavator. Positioned between its 1.7-ton and 3-ton models, this 2.2-ton machine offers precise digging, zero-tail swing, ROPS/FOPS protection and an upgraded hydraulic system. Its compact build, digital interface and user-friendly controls make it suitable for applications such as urban construction, basement work and other confined-space operations.

The company also introduced the Hydra 15 Mining, a prototype designed for quarrying and mining conditions. The model features reinforced safety systems, including a lift-jack guard and strengthened front bumper, along with an air-conditioned cabin to support longer shifts. Built for high-impact environments, it promises predictable maintenance and consistent performance for demanding sites.

A prototype backhoe loader, the BLX75K, was also displayed for wider regional markets. Powered by a 74.3 hp Kubota CEV-V engine, it brings improved fuel efficiency, multiple work modes and easier serviceability while reflecting deeper Japanese engineering integration.

Leading the concept display was the Hydra 72, a next-generation pick-and-carry crane featuring a 72-foot boom for higher-reach applications. With upgraded luffing capability, a rope-compensated boom, heavy-duty winch, reinforced drivetrain and enhanced cabin ergonomics, it targets sectors requiring elevated lifting.

Alongside these models, EKL showcased its broader BS V portfolio, including the mass-market BLX 75 backhoe loader and latest Kubota-engine variants.
