Castrol Expands Sarathi Mitra with Mobile Learning for Truckers

Castrol India Limited has expanded its flagship social responsibility initiative, Sarathi Mitra, with the launch of ‘Highways as Classroom’ for truck drivers across Uttar Pradesh. As part of the first phase, a specially designed mobile learning truck will travel to 46 locations in the state, delivering structured knowledge and training directly to the trucking community through on-ground engagement.

Truck drivers play a critical role in India’s supply chain, yet they continue to face challenges such as road accidents, health risks, demanding working conditions, and limited access to formal financial and digital education. Through Sarathi Mitra’s mobile learning sessions, Castrol aims to reach drivers at their routes and rest points, focusing on road safety, driver wellness, and safer driving practices. The programme also emphasises financial planning to help drivers manage earnings more effectively and build long-term security for their families.

The initiative is further strengthened by Digital Sarathi Mitra, a platform offering anytime, anywhere access to training modules and essential information, creating a more inclusive and future-ready support ecosystem for the trucking community.

“Truck drivers are the backbone of our nation’s logistics ecosystem. Through Castrol Sarathi Mitra, we aim to support their holistic development, helping them drive safe and live safe. With ‘Highways as Classroom’ and ‘Digital Sarathi Mitra’, we are taking our commitment a step further and making learning more inclusive, impactful, and sustainable for the trucker community,” said Kedar Lele, Managing Director, Castrol India Ltd.

Launched in 2017, Castrol Sarathi Mitra has trained over 2.5 lakh truck drivers across India, reaffirming the company’s commitment to investing in human capital, safer roads and stronger families. CW.
