Continental Launches Reduced Dimension Spiral Hoses in APAC
2025-12-19
Continental’s group sector ContiTech has announced the launch of its Reduced Dimension Spiral hydraulic hose series in the Asia-Pacific region, strengthening its portfolio of high-performance solutions for construction, agricultural, and mining machinery. The new series is designed to deliver constant high-pressure performance while improving flexibility, reducing weight, and extending service life to enhance overall equipment efficiency.
“The construction, agriculture, and mining industries are rapidly evolving toward greater reliability, lower emissions, and smarter systems,” said Xin Song, Head, Mobile Industrial Solutions, Industrial Solutions APAC, ContiTech. “The Reduced Dimension Spiral series reflects our materials expertise and customer-centric approach, offering lightweight design, space efficiency, and adaptability to extreme environments without compromising high-pressure performance.”
The series features a four- to six-layer high-tensile steel wire spiral structure paired with an optimised synthetic rubber inner tube. This design enables a smaller outer diameter and tighter minimum bending radius, improving routing flexibility and space utilisation in compact equipment such as excavators and loaders. Reduced weight and volume also help lower system load and energy consumption, while simplifying installation, logistics, and maintenance.
Engineered for reliability across a wide temperature range, the hoses operate effectively from –40°C to +120°C. The robust inner tube and weather-resistant outer cover ensure stable performance in harsh environments, including cold mining regions and high-temperature industrial sites, reducing maintenance frequency and performance degradation.
Covering working pressures from 4,100 to 6,100 psi, the Reduced Dimension Spiral series complies with ISO 18752 CC class standards and MSHA flame-resistance requirements, with a 4:1 safety factor. Its multi-pressure design supports inventory rationalisation and simplified supply chain management for equipment manufacturers.
For Asia-Pacific markets, ContiTech has introduced the SRDS series with a reinforced synthetic rubber cover for enhanced repeat bending performance and durability. For more demanding applications, the XRDS series offers extended-life abrasion resistance, providing superior protection in mining, construction, and forestry operations.
Through continued innovation and collaboration, ContiTech aims to advance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability across the construction and heavy equipment industries.
