GEON Launches Integrated Lithium Backup Solution for Homes and SMEs

Energy-storage solutions provider GEON has announced the launch of its GELITHIUM Integrated Inverter Solution, an all-in-one power backup system that combines an inverter with a built-in lithium-ion battery in a single compact unit. GEON is part of Kabra Extrusion Technik, a 60-year-old company under the Kolsite Group, with longstanding expertise in extrusion and engineering solutions.

The launch strengthens GEON’s position in the rapidly expanding integrated inverter segment and targets India’s more than four crore households and small businesses that rely on backup power for daily operations. Power instability continues to impact productivity across several parts of the country, particularly in semi-urban and transition markets, where grid reliability remains inconsistent and voltage fluctuations and peak-hour load shedding are common.

Industry estimates suggest that nearly 70 percent of India’s installed backup capacity still depends on conventional lead-acid inverter systems. These systems require regular maintenance, manual wiring, electrolyte refilling and frequent servicing, while also offering lower efficiency and faster performance degradation. As a result, consumers are increasingly shifting towards integrated lithium-based solutions that offer maintenance-free operation, longer life cycles and consistent power delivery.

Designed to address this shift, GELITHIUM integrates the inverter and lithium battery into a single sealed enclosure, eliminating the need for external cabling or bulky batteries. The compact design simplifies installation, saves indoor space and significantly reduces servicing requirements, making it suitable for homes, clinics, small retail outlets, offices and light commercial applications.

The system uses advanced lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) prismatic cells supported by an intelligent Battery Management System, fast-charging capability and multiple safety protections to ensure reliable performance and extended operating life.

“The economics of power backup are shifting from upfront pricing to lifecycle value,” said Anand Kabra, Chairman & Managing Director, GEON. “By integrating lithium chemistry, BMS and inverter hardware into a single system, GELITHIUM delivers predictable long-term performance without the recurring upkeep associated with lead-acid solutions.”

Built to support the growing use of electronic devices, GELITHIUM provides stable and clean power, helping protect sensitive equipment while offering long-term value for customers, dealers and distribution partners.
