Bhumi World to launch Rs 2 billion outlet mall in Bhiwandi

Bhumi World has announced plans to launch The Outlet Mall of India, a flagship retail development with an investment of around Rs 2 billion, aimed at transforming Bhiwandi into a lifestyle and consumption destination within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The project, one of the country’s largest outlet malls, is scheduled for launch around mid-March 2026.
Strategically located in Bhiwandi, a region increasingly evolving from a logistics hub into a broader economic corridor, the outlet mall will operate on a 365-day discount model, offering year-round value-driven shopping. The development is positioned to attract shoppers from Mumbai, Thane, Pune and Nashik, addressing growing demand for organised retail formats outside traditional city centres.
Beyond retail, the project is expected to act as an economic catalyst for the region by generating employment and creating a new retail-led growth corridor. The mall will house a curated mix of international and domestic brands across categories including fashion, lifestyle, electronics, home décor and food and beverage.
Commenting on the announcement, Prakash Patel, Chairman and Managing Director, Bhumi World, said the project is envisioned as more than a shopping destination. He noted that the outlet mall aims to introduce a global standard of ‘retailtainment’ in India while supporting local economic growth and employment.
The project’s location is expected to benefit from strong regional connectivity, including access via the Mumbai–Nashik Highway and the Samruddhi Expressway, strengthening Bhiwandi’s position on the MMR consumption map.
