Karnataka’s First Gen Z Post Office Opens in Bengaluru

The redesigned Gen Z Post Office features work café-style interiors with free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, device charging points and a coffee vending machine. Additional facilities include a book booth stocked with books and board games, student-created artwork reflecting Bengaluru and India Post, and dedicated areas that encourage collaboration, productivity and social interaction.

To support digital-first engagement, the post office offers a self-booking kiosk, QR code-enabled instant payments and a MyStamp counter for personalised stamp printing, blending modern convenience with India Post’s philatelic legacy. Parcel packaging services are also available on campus, helping students easily ship belongings directly from their place of study.

The facility was inaugurated on 17 December 2025 by Mr Prakash, Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Postal Circle, in the presence of Dr Bhagirathi V, Director (Academics), Acharya Group of Institutions. A special picture postcard with commemorative cancellation was released to mark the occasion.

India Post plans to roll out similar Gen Z-themed post offices across educational institutions nationwide, strengthening its transition into a modern, connected and student-focused service hub.
