MOIL Records Best-Ever Q3, Nine-Month Output in FY26

MOIL has posted its best-ever production performance during FY 2025–26 so far, achieving record manganese ore output both in the third quarter and in the first nine months of the financial year, reflecting sustained operational improvement across its mines.

During the October–December quarter (Q3 FY26), MOIL recorded its highest-ever manganese ore production for any third quarter at 4.77 lakh tonnes. This represents a growth of around 3.7 per cent compared to the corresponding period last year. The performance marks a significant milestone for the company and underscores steady gains in mining efficiency and output optimisation.

Building on the quarterly performance, MOIL also achieved its best-ever production for the April–December period. Total manganese ore output during the first nine months of FY26 stood at 14.21 lakh tonnes, registering an increase of about 6.8% over the corresponding period of the previous year. The company attributed the strong performance to focused mine planning, strict operational discipline, increased mechanisation and the sustained efforts of its workforce across operating units.

While production showed healthy growth, sales during the third quarter stood at 3.74 lakh tonnes compared to 3.88 lakh tonnes in the year-ago period. Exploration activity during the quarter was also lower, with drilling of 1,806 metres compared to 22,118 metres in the corresponding quarter last year.

Despite these variations, MOIL said the overall production momentum reflects the robustness of its mining operations and its ability to consistently deliver output growth. The company remains focused on strengthening operational efficiency, improving productivity and ensuring long-term resource sustainability.

MOIL’s performance during FY26 so far reinforces its position as a key player in India’s manganese ore sector and highlights the role of disciplined execution and mechanisation in driving growth in the mining industry.
