German Chancellor Visits Bosch India Campus in Bengaluru

Strengthening the long-standing partnership between India and Germany, Friedrich Merz, Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, recently visited the Bosch campus at Adugodi, Bengaluru, during his India trip. The delegation was hosted by Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director, Bosch Limited, who showcased key innovations developed in the region.

During the visit, the delegation experienced Bosch’s H2ICE demonstrator truck featuring a fully integrated powertrain and telematics system. Bosch India, in collaboration with Bosch Germany, is advancing hydrogen-based technologies to accelerate zero-emission and sustainable mobility solutions. The guests were also introduced to Bosch’s software innovations, including AIShield, an advanced AI security solution designed to ensure the safety, reliability and robustness of artificial intelligence systems, backed by over 150 patents.

The visit underscored the deep economic and technological ties between India and Germany across mobility, manufacturing and innovation, while highlighting the role of German enterprises in India’s growth journey. Over the past century, Bosch has established a strong presence in India through sustained investments, localisation initiatives and a strong focus on talent development, contributing significantly to the country’s industrial and technological progress.
