Firstsource Acquires TeleMedik to Expand US Healthcare Capabilities

TeleMedik brings advanced clinical platforms and complementary technologies that support health plans seeking more personalised and outcome-focused care. The acquisition also strengthens Firstsource’s integrated and differentiated business process as a service offering for healthcare clients, combining technology-led automation with clinical and administrative expertise.

The transaction comes at a time when healthcare payers are facing rising utilisation rates, increasing financial pressures and growing demand for personalised, coordinated care. Health plans are increasingly looking for digital solutions that improve care coordination, member engagement and data integration while maintaining operational efficiency.

By integrating digital and generative artificial intelligence-driven clinical operations with TeleMedik’s unified service model, Firstsource aims to deliver comprehensive healthcare lifecycle management. This spans intake and authorisation through care coordination, clinical intervention and ongoing member engagement, supported by automation and analytics.

TeleMedik’s operational footprint in Puerto Rico and across the US adds scale to Firstsource’s healthcare platform, enabling support for a broader payer base. The combined capabilities are expected to improve quality, reduce administrative costs and enhance experiences for members and providers.

Following the acquisition, Firstsource expects to strengthen its offerings for health plans by deepening access to the US payer-provider ecosystem, supporting the rapid growth of Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and dual-eligible populations, including Spanish-speaking and underserved communities. The integration is also expected to reduce operational risk, improve continuity and deliver enhanced capabilities in utilisation management, care management and disease management.
