TRAI Reviews Mobile Network Quality Across Delhi

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has recently released the findings of its Independent Drive Tests (IDT) conducted across the Delhi Licensed Service Area to evaluate real-world mobile network performance. The assessment, carried out in December 2025, covered extensive city routes, institutional hotspots, public transport hubs and high-density corridors.
The tests spanned 347.4 km of city drive routes, 12 hotspot locations and 7.8 km of walk tests, assessing 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G services of Airtel, MTNL, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea. Key parameters analysed included call setup success rate, drop call rate, speech quality, download and upload speeds, and latency.
The results indicated strong performance by Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea across most voice and data metrics, with Reliance Jio recording the highest average download speeds. MTNL lagged on several parameters, particularly in data services. TRAI has shared the detailed findings with the concerned telecom service providers for necessary corrective action and network improvement.
