HIL Commences Toll Operations at Kaza Fee Plaza on NH-16
2026-02-03
Highway Infrastructure Limited (HIL), an integrated infrastructure development and management company, has recently commenced toll operations at the Kaza Fee Plaza on the Chilakaluripet–Vijayawada section of National Highway-16 in Andhra Pradesh, effective 23 January 2026.
The project spans from Km 355.0 to Km 437.5 on NH-16, covering an aggregate length of 82.5 km. NH-16 is a critical north–south corridor connecting major economic centres across southern and eastern India and forms a vital part of the national logistics and passenger transport network.
This marks HIL’s first toll operations contract of this scale, with a total contract value of Rs 3.2877 crore, awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). It is also the largest single toll operations mandate executed by the company to date, signalling a significant scale-up of its tolling vertical. Under the Letter of Award, HIL will operate the toll plaza for a one-year period, enabling immediate revenue generation.
The mandate aligns with HIL’s asset-light toll operations model, allowing efficient scaling with limited capital commitment, improved operating cash-flow visibility, and faster conversion of order wins into executed revenues.
Entry into this high-traffic Andhra Pradesh stretch of NH-16 expands HIL’s pan-India toll operations footprint, strengthens its long-term engagement with NHAI, and reinforces its credentials as a scalable toll operations partner for large national highway projects.
Following recent order wins, including the Kaza Fee Plaza project, HIL’s consolidated order book stands at Rs 12.09 billion. The EPC order book has grown 52 per cent since March 2025 to Rs 6.33 billion, while the tollways collection order book has recorded a sharp increase of around 404 per cent to Rs 5.75 billion, enhancing medium-term revenue visibility.
Commenting on the development, Arun Kumar Jain, Managing Director, Highway Infrastructure Limited, said the project represents a key milestone in the company’s growth journey and reflects NHAI’s confidence in its operational capabilities. He added that HIL remains focused on disciplined execution, technology-driven efficiency, and sustainable long-term value creation.
Incorporated in 2006, Highway Infrastructure Limited operates across tollways collection, EPC projects, and real estate, with a presence in 11 states and one Union Territory. Backed by a robust order book and growing pipeline, the company is positioned to benefit from India’s ongoing highway development push.
